In this scenario the power source is directly into the light fixture box. A three-way switch is designed to control power in any home. There are four different screw terminals on its body, which control the pathway power will take when traveling between switches. The green screw is the ground, The two lighter, brass-colored screws are called the traveler screws and the last screw is the common terminal.

Note : It is a good and common practice to find black tape on a white wire indicating that this wire now carries a load.
